Position Overview
Creative Chemistry Works is seeking Power BI Developers to design, develop, and maintain data visualization and business intelligence solutions across government and commercial client environments. This role is responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights that support operational performance, executive decision-making, and compliance reporting.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in data modeling, dashboard development, and working with structured and unstructured data sources. This position operates in data-driven and compliance-focused environments, requiring accuracy, performance optimization, and clear data storytelling.
Power BI Developers will collaborate with stakeholders across operations, finance, HR, and IT to deliver scalable reporting solutions, automate data processes, and support ongoing analytics initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI
- Build and maintain data models, relationships, and calculated measures using DAX
- Extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources (Excel, SQL databases, APIs, SharePoint, cloud platforms)
- Translate business requirements into technical reporting solutions
- Optimize report performance and data refresh processes
- Develop automated reporting workflows and data pipelines
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reports
- Implement row-level security (RLS) and data access controls as required
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting standards
- Maintain documentation for dashboards, data models, and processes
- Support ad hoc reporting requests and data analysis initiatives
- Assist in data governance and data quality improvement efforts
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 6 years of experience in Power BI development or business intelligence
- Strong proficiency in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, Power Query)
- Experience with SQL for data extraction and transformation
- Strong understanding of relational databases and data structures
- Experience building dashboards for business, financial, or operational reporting
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with large and complex datasets
- Excellent communication skills for presenting data insights to stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft Azure (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Data Lake)
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server or other database platforms
- Experience integrating data from APIs or third-party systems
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
- Experience with Power Automate or Power Apps for workflow integration
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards
- Experience supporting government, healthcare, or regulated environments
- Microsoft certifications (PL-300 or equivalent) preferred

- Must adhere to data security and confidentiality standards
- Experience handling sensitive or regulated data preferred
